What’s the idea behind rolling them? Did you roll after you sown them?
Yes rolled them after sowing , but still a little stoney .

Me too, roll at sowing or once well established, not in-between, same goes for cereals.
I heavy roll reseeds immediately after sowing, especially in the spring.
If it's just through some seeds will just be germinated and disturbing them can render them useless.

IMO Cambridge is always best, the individual rings push stones in better. I’ve seen more people buying Cambridge rollers for grassland rolling than flats.

Don't touch it with a roller. I never roll new grass until it;'s well established and you can't see the soil through it.

Graze as soon as it tillers .takes out most weeds and does it the world of good . Then as soon as it fills out get it rolled

Cant beat a heavy flat roll on the day of broadcasting over cambridge rolled surface ( or drilling) as an integral part of the establishment process before the grains of earth have had time to settle and resist the stones being pushed down to surface level.
Very few cambridge rollers approach half the weight of a large diameter concrete filled flat with their ability to push stone beneath mower blade level.
