Just back from another day in the road

3 dogs to Newmarket for eye tests

Then this goofball ( yet again ) couldn’t get the hang of what was needed, so off we went again to Newark

Quick pit stop

That look of what’s going on

Thankfully experience won the day and after an interesting trip with both sire and dam in the back of the car the deed was done [emoji41]

Just potentially got 3 litters coming at harvest now [emoji51]

Is the work fairly repetitive or do you get variation, challenges from different farms?

How's things at home? Have you had any rain?

The work is fairly repetitive in itself, although every job is a bit different. Different conditions, different personalities of farmers / managers etc etc
Last job was 800 ha & we had both strippers working together ( so both teams were also camped together in the same donga ) & did it in under 4 days. The opposite to that was 16 ha in about 6 hours to finish off a job for a real arsehole of a manager . . .
The worst part of the job ( apart from being away from home ) is changing the row spacing & configuration of the front for different jobs. The first six jobs were six different row spacings . . .
Weve had 1.5 metre rows, 2 metre rows, 2.4 m rows, 3 metre rows
I m on single skip
1 m on double skip
We even had 30" on double skip
We've had the front from 9 m to 12 m wide ( it's 12 most of the time )
We've added stripping heads, we've taken heads off
It's good to just get into the big areas & just stay in the one place & the one row spacing & just hook in

Some rain at home, but not enough to fill the profile or give me any confidence to plant much. I have 2 fields ( about 270 ha ) that have a metre of moisture that I will plant chickpeas in around late may / early June ( that was part of the deal with this job, that I could slip away for a few days to plant my crops if needed ) , but that's it. Won't be planting any wheat unless we get another 100 or more mm, as those fields allocated are still too dry

Checking my chillaxing cows :D several of whom seem to have lost at least one of the tags I painstakingly replaced before my farm assured audit :banhappy: then went to my other job with my old ladies and gents....and then new nails that say the cows are out and calvings done time to embrace my inner girly girl lol  diamanté’s may have been a bit too far but the sparkles just proved too much temptation :LOL:

New to me anyway was the wheel configuration on this truck, driver didn't like it.
Tridems have been around for a few years now, I don't see what's not to like about them. All the maneuverability of a 3 axle rigid, with the payload of 4 axles.
