Afternoon, what could be causing the above seam to get 20sheep in and hand piece is red hot even well oiled and changing gear wont cool it down? Think without checking up its a horner xxx hand piece. Cheers
Its nt new by any means has a few yrs under its belt, cant b gear as putting new on doesn't alter it, could b tension I suppose but only have enough on for a clean shear
If it's hot at the front, grease both ends of the tension pin, check the chicken feet are moving freely, take them out and grease them as well. If the barrel gets hot try getting more oil on to the center post, make sure to do it frequently, with the tension off so oil can get right up into the cup. A hot barrel could also be a bearing, which is a harder fix. If the heat is at the back, take the ferrule off and check around the spindle, there could be a bit of wool wrapped around it at either end. Hope this helps.
As J-ham says.
Hot tension knob then it probably needs grease in the tension sleeve (but definitely not in the tension knob where the threads are).
Could be blunt gear that needs changing more often not applying more tension to get it to cut.
Heat and stiffness in the back joint probably wool caught in the joint.
Heat in the barrel could be bearing failure assuming it has bearings not an oil bath.
