I think they are 21k ish
My vw is a 2015 it's excellent at towing and I mean it never moves when loaded

I know exactly what you mean I guess they'll depreciate fast you'll be lucky to get out on the right side to trade up again.

You'd almost need a weeks demo to see what Its like to live with...
3.5t on it's arse down to Devon and back to Cumbria will be a test vw does it effortlessly

If it’s 2/3 the price of a VW, with a similar spec and a 7 yr warranty, it could surely depreciate quite heavily without costing any more per mile than the VW.

I dare so most VW pickup owners wouldn’t be seen dead in one though, for fear of others seeing that they had ‘downgraded’. Can you imagine the tongues wagging in the market, not that most VW pickups see a livestock trailer or a market car park of course.....

Very much a badge thing at play I suspect. If Ssanyong were to buy some western car company and just sold badge engineered cars over here, they would probably sell many more. If it had a Landrover badge on the front the same specs and warranty wouldn't just be £10k more, but £20k.

There's a few round here now, haven't heard any horror stories. Not driven one of the new ones but they do look like they've improved a lot.
I believe you can almost buy 2 well spec'd Rhino's for one top range Amarok.
Whenever I change a vehicle I always look at VW because everyone raves about them. I cant for the life of me see why, they seem very bland and carry a price premium over other makes, what's the attraction?

Is it just a badge thing?
I'm not to botherd about the badge
I bought the amarok simply because my old 08 caddy van has clocked 200k and never ever missed a beat... I still have I think she is here to stay good old faithful, I'll have to gives her a paint up it's showing it's age
My amarok now has done just over 100k and again never missed a beat and they can tow really well I mean really well!!!
I'm not a hilux fan I find they're heavy of fuel and a bit agricultural for me
My amarok is returning 40 42mpg on a 400+mile trip it's biturbo auto

I don't go out drinking much and I do a few miles I buy what I like And what works best for me
I like the look of the ssangyong so I'm willing to try it

I don't think the amarok is the best out there spec wise etc But it's a solid economical pickup.
The ssangyong is fully loaded I do like my buttons etc

When Kia first arrived in the UK a lot of people thought they were cheap eastern rubbish (myself included), but they proved themselves and now for warranty and reliability they're regarded as one of the best. Friend has a Musso and loves it, certainly looks well made to me. I reckon they'll soon be very popular

Amanda Holden's getting a bit ropey now!

...and your a Tory boy! ;)

Amanda is much younger than me and can come and help me on the farm any day, she will have to cut her nails though.

I am now a Brexit boy until they have the sense to elect Boris.

P.S. Have you seen Berties new Claas combine? Very nice.

Didn't realise he'd swapped, is he still running 2 or traded them both in for 1?

Following.

We'll be needing another pickup at some point in the near future, and as you say on paper they look like a good idea.

Anyone know what the bed size is and would it carry a Euro pallet like the Amarok?

I think the amarok’s are good if not towing all the time. A friend said it does hit the mpg hard if towing a lot of weight. Empty I’m sure they are hard to beat on economy and comfort. I find them so very boring to look at. The new Hilux looks great though. Personal opinion is all you can buy a vehicle on. If you like it and ticks all boxes then your mind is made up.

There were a load of kia Sorento s sold here in the mid 00s. I had one . There are very few of them on the road now. I see more old Mercedes ml around and they never sold in any number new.
Would prefer a two year old main stream myself instead of the sangsong
