Yes but i only ever heard how and not seen it done .wat i was told that the 1000 speed pto shaft has a wee tip on it and when fitted selects the 1000 speed . One a 540 speed shaft u can insert the tip eg . A wee bolt cut few mm and it gets u the 1000 speed on a 540 shaft again i only heard this from a busy contractor that used a fleet of fiat 80 serious tractors years ago

That's right, take the 6 spline stub off and cut a bolt to fit the hole in centre so it's flush and refit, it should now be 1000 rpm

Thanks, I had a look this afternoon, and thought that might be the case, but wanted to be sure. Our big Zetor is changed the same way.


Not on topic I suppose.

On a Zetor 10641 , you can get 1000 on 540 shaft by filling the hole in the end of the shaft flush. I use part of a grease gun nozzle .
However , on a 12145 Zetor , I use a bolt cut off possibly 20 mm from the head . As in you need the head of the bolt on the end of the shaft , to push in the selector.
