Project Xerion.

I see from your pictures that the belt box driven hydraulically is what you have so I would presume you have a two speed gearbox for disc drive as well so I would think that in actual fact you will use possibly less oil in high speed when spreading fert at 24m as less weight on discs. Just checked the load sensing pump on the Multidrive is a 60cc pump driving a 33 hp motor on belt box ( not sure on your spec but will be similiar) and tbh the belt drive for floor will not be a huge flow so should be ok but I would direct drive the discs if there is an issue you will lose the border spread system as it stands but plenty options to sort that out too

@Cab-over Pete it should have a pto? It’s probably just had the stub taken off as not been used, could you use the tractors existing oil to save having another oil tank what do these use as oil storage the backend or have they a separate tank?

Could you not sell it and buy a multi drive as I believe they have plenty oil flow?

:LOL::LOL::LOL: I could do that, couldn’t I?!!!’

However, they only had enough oil flow after it is delivered, found to be woefully lacking, prompting (after weeks of asking politely) a big load of shouting and swearing at the sales pratt. In the meantime the fitter loses his patience with the firm, lobs a load of bits in his van, ignores what he’s supposed to do and arrives at my yard, spins spanner’s for a few hours and magically gets it working.

If the original owner didn’t tick that box on the options list it will be shite.

There is a separate oil tank. There s a pto flange off the gearbox but it’s not connected to anything or even turning. We might be able to get it going, but will wait to see what happens tomorrow.

Considering it greatly just now.

Just before you do anything if you haven't already have a talk to Kieth and crew at KRM about options as they have fitted these machines to all sorts including running trailed machines straight off tractor spools like yours would be and I can't imagine your mighty machine has crapper spools than some of those to put it bluntly.

Afterall we all have a vested interest in making this machine work for you!! Its been along time getting to this stage and we don't want you to do half a job now. Infact your going to have to do a TFF tour with this machine round the country to show all those with an emotional involvement what you have produced!!! Crack on nearly there

Cheers

Got her all plumbed in, well roughly, with a couple of used pipes just for a trial run.

Neil from Precise Solutions came yesterday to fit a new Agleader InCommand 800 rate controller screen to work with the Claas GPS system already installed on the tractor.

But the tractor wouldn't talk to the AgLeader. Or vice versa. So He set up the old Trimble EZGuide 250 and off we went.

All seemed to work OK. It will put 6200kg/ha on (2.5t/ac) @ 20 kph and so I'll be happy with that. Ran out of time to try it as though I'm spreading fert with discs flat out because I had an appointment to get to. (Got to that, just parking the car and the person I was to see rang and cancelled :mad::banghead:)

Back in the field today, had another razz about with a few more settings. Just about to try it in granular fert mode and Ed Parker from Claas arrived to see about sorting out a diesel leak from the tank. Didn't get time to sort either after a natter because I had to get to the dentist ( forgot about that!!).

Ed did get a go on the narky GPS but when he set it in straight A-B mode it swerved about all over the place like SuperGrann on a moped after 9 sherries so I think there is definitely summut amiss. He's going to get the Claas GPS man to give me a call.

So, all in all, about what I expected, nearly there but not quite.

Quietly liking it so far. :)
