How is the border between the EU and Switzerland maintained/policed?
By going through one of these and as Switzerland is in Schengen so it's not as arduous for EU citizens.

Good old fashioned customs posts and yes the border will be easily bypassed by those who wish to profit illegally (and allow migrants through) but cause havoc for legitimate business.
The EU will fund Ireland if it needs resource for a border.
No need for them to control the movement of people, there's a border down the North Sea/English Channel for that. Unless Ireland signs up to Schengen, that would mess things up a bit.going to build a few hundred of them on the irish bordrer are we?
Okay.
So how about the border between The UK, The ROI and the R EU?
Scratchin your head says it all really........I don't understand you comment. The the RoI is an EU member, other than leaving the EU how can they have a border between them and the EU.

The backstop is a win win outcome for NI economically. But there are factions that see this as forming a wedge between NI and UK. An independent NI would solve it as well.
NI is in the UK, you mean NI and GB!The backstop is a win win outcome for NI economically. But there are factions that see this as forming a wedge between NI and UK. An independent NI would solve it as well.
Of course it'll happen. Euroscepticism is on the rise in Ireland, they've had their European money and transformed the country but now that they're paying more in than they get out things are changing. Varadkar and Coveney are EU puppets, they're doing what is best for the EU not what is best for Ireland and it'll come back to bite them. Ireland's next EU related referendum will be interesting. You mean an independent ROI along with the rUK would be a far bigger win win for all of the British Isles.
It'll happen.
This week past or the week before I understand.A recent photo? So that meeting went along the lines of NI voted to remain, NI elected 2 remain MEPs, we want to stay in the EU, we need to stop Brexit. Nothing constructive will have been discussed in that meeting
Not complicated post Brexit -
Option 1 Hard Border and all the misery that goes with it including loss of life.
Option 2 NI stays in EU and a few religious (DUP) nutters get upset including loss of life.
Dammed if you do etc. And at some point someone has to pick an option (better phone Boris)

There won't be any reform, the EU are on a path that won't be altered. Once the people see that there's no chance of reform and they feel like they're putting in more than they're getting out the calls for withdrawal will get stronger. If Brexit is a success you'll have The Irexit Party on your ballot papersNot getting those vibes down here, Mick Wallace was, as far as I could make out, the only semi Eurosceptic standing in the EU elections. He's strong on reform but didn't go so far as to talk about withdrawal.

People yes, as the RoI isn't in Schengen, goods no.But tell me.
Do people and goods from and to the ROI go through border and customs checks with the r EU?
Brexit hasn't happened yet so nobody knows if it is going to be a success or failure.Well the success of Brexit has been enough to convince all the other right-wing, populists and fascist parties that leaving the EU isn't such a great idea after all.
