Lets hope Boris smashes it tonight with a chest thumping churchill esc barnstorming performance. The others will try to tear a strip off him but it could backfire if they all try to bully him.

Interesting poll of Tory members on Ch4 news tonight. Approx 60% said they wanted Brexit to happen even if it resulted in Scotland or Northern Ireland leaving the union or caused significant damage to the economy (three separate questions). Not sure what Scottish Tories will think of their fellows in the Conservative and UNIONIST party. As a former Tory voter, I am becoming increasingly turned off.

So it's Brexit at any cost for them. The 1-5 on offer about Bojo being next Tory leader looks reasonable value. Quick 20% return anyone? But in that case, why is 'No deal exit in 2019' still available at more than 2-1?

I know he won’t win but I am warming hugely to Stewart.

He’s actually done something with his life rather than just moved from think tank bod to MP’s researcher to MP. He is like a mad colonial throwback with his Hong Kong/Eton childhood, experiences in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere and with that comes knowledge of the real world. I believe he also represents England’s most rural constituency so as farmers that must give us some comfort.

What ? Kidnapped by the Taliban .. stole another man's wife using state aid money .. smoked heroin.

And wants to double foreign aid ?

He's a drop out .. a useless good for nothing waster.

I would agree with that, although I'm not sure if his people's forum approach to Brexit would be much good. The public are as divided as parliament.

Seems posh but down to earth considering he's an old Etonian. I was watching the series on Mrs Thatcher a couple of nights ago and they mentioned how the Etonians in the cabinet looked on her with 'supercillious disdain'. I would love to learn about how they go to that school and come out thinking that they've a god-given right to run the show.

First question "can you 5 guarantee to get your Brexit plan through parliament by October 31st"? Not one of them gave that guarantee, full stop. I'm off to check the cows.

Boris is stuttering big time. It’s obvious he won’t do no deal
