Spam calls

Just a thought - who benefits , and how , from the landline calls that click off as you pick up the phone . I can see that if you actually answered it , you might be connected to a premium line , but when it clicks off , what then ? I've had a few lately that when I " 1471" them , they come up as one of those "non- determinate area" prefixes that you might think are UK based , but if you don't answer then I really don't see the benefit ,but I suppose somebody (apart from the block number seller) must benefit . Who ?

Nobody, but sometimes they will have a person free to talk to you - lines are cheap and people less so, so they dial a whole chunk of people in advance of a call centre person being free that way the con artists don't have to wait for you to answer.

Keep 'em talking, the more you waste their time the less time they have to con vulnerable people
I seem to get a few “AI” type spam calls now on my mobile trying to ambulance chase me on some mythical accident I never was involved with.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone managed to get two spam AIs “cross-talking” to one another, literally tying themselves in knots cross selling PPI and accident claims to themselves :p:cool::D:ROFLMAO:
