SW Lancashire seems not so badly affected which is unusual. They normally suffer the worst in a wet time.
Are Boston’s a variety?
Of course not.
But I suppose they have become a brand, we are selling (or would like to) Boston Maris Bard. Jersey Royals today instead.
Oh right, plenty of spuds in East Suffolk I think? Too far for transport?

Loads of carrots come from Suffolk so not a problem
Quite likely we will be selling potatoes from the Nottinghamshire sands. Just prefer potatoes from peat soils
Not much consolation to those facing losses, perhaps if they have some higher ground, an uplift in prices will help?.
Have been hearing about 120-130mm recorded in Lancs this week so not as bad as the East but enough, reports of the odd spud crop being underwater up there though. As posted elsewhere blight control is going to be the big challenge now.....,SW Lancashire seems not so badly affected which is unusual. They normally suffer the worst in a wet time.
Lost a couple of acres here, although the field always was a bit risky. Was there any damage done to the potatoes where they had the most rain?

So are the contract or free buy growers going to be happiest this year. Long way to go yet I suppose.Sorry to hear that, not many reports on the crop damage any where so I assume all is fairly well considering.
