Granular fert down same pipe as seed on co4

i would like to put granular fert down spout with seed through duet coulters,if I use air bleeders on seed pipes and t in the fert pipes above this would there be enough room for both seed and fert and also would there be sufficient air loss to stop blowing both out of the slot?

Up to you but I'd put fert down a separate pipe at back of disc coulter. Think @Jh has pictures of his amazone he converted.

The fert dust eats the bearings on disc coulters.

It’s on a co4 Tine drill so no bearings etc to rust, going about 8km at 200kg barley/400kg seedbed fert. I’m concerned that at that rate the standard pipes at I think 38mm won’t cope with it?

I could be wrong but I think there is a grain and fert version of the duet coulter def liquid fert and seed but I think there is a solid fert and grain version also or look on the anderson website which is where they came from originally

Yeh my drill has liquid pipes,i will look into granular options for duetts another idea I had was to add on another divider shoot the same as grain shoot behind but space becoming tight with adding in air bleeders

I've done this. Will take a picture. Fert goes in front hopper, and put a new head to the right of the steps. Y dividers on every seed tube. Fert and seed both in same tube for the last say 1m thereafter. Made it a bit of a maze of pipes, and balancing the two fan speeds can be an art, but on the whole pretty pleased with it. Damn sight cheaper than dedicated seed and fert drill.

That’s exactly what I’m planning, photos would be great do you have the air bleed offs at the bottom or not?im worried with extra fan speed il get too much seed blowing out of slot

No bleeders at the moment, but probably not a bad idea. Not had a problem of seed blowing out of slot, but occasionally it seems to prioritise fert to the outside sections if I don't balance the fans properly. Unscientific guess is that bleeders would solve it!

Lincsman is right. The only fertilizer you want with seed is phosphate. Close to the seed give better crop utilization. Even then with high rates the salts in it can cause issues. Putting N down the same row is asking for trouble.
