There is a lot of grub on the verges since the rain.Is that road shut for 8 weeks for them to graze the standing hay then?
5 weeks is no good at all. 6 border line, no room for error.Do you give all the girls 8 weeks? quite a long time, i thought most people do 5/6 weeks?
Thats interesting, are you breeding replacments or happy buying? To be total honest we always go 6 weeks odd few will calve early, we are due end of August so will start drying half way through July. A lot of our fresians will tell me when the want to be dry, they drop like a stone! There is a lot of grub on the verges since the rain.

We are on for a good 8 weeks, planned start is 15th of aug and the cows above are week 3 of calving.
The xbred cows and bulls weve used are both short gestation, so i guess by planned start that we will be milking 25+% of the herd already. Just dont want to be caught short.
Hope someone isn't bored if they hold to your start dateThere is a lot of grub on the verges since the rain.

Happy buying. Only 1 problem.... cows that are meant to be empty turning up in calf.Thats interesting, are you breeding replacments or happy buying? You buying fresh from Ireland ? Its how we started David C? guess you can sell incalf ones on! we had 1 or 2 that i recon where closer to 150 days in milk and incalf than fresh, but bit difficult to pick out when whole herd is milked for 24hours so bursting when viewing. All terned out good cows would do it againHappy buying. A few from him, few fairly locals too. Just a pain with tb, had 7 this yearYou buying fresh from Ireland ? For sure thats the biggest unmanagable problem we have. When you look there are 10000s of cross bread cows in this country for sale, Must admit some cross bread cows we got the past seam to come from high johns risk herds.

As a flying herd I only have to worry about it onceWhen you look there are 10000s of cross bread cows in this country for sale, Must admit some cross bread cows we got the past seam to come from high johns risk herds.
We are certainly the end of the lineAs a flying herd I only have to worry about it once
