What about spring oats, how many should they have ?

Mine got 2 last year because early rust crept in. This year it’s just the one for mildew and rust. The gate is shut on everything now bar hand rogueing and any pre harvest desiccation required if really necessary.

It’s been really very low pressure this year in this area

Was able to miss t0 completely and use very cheap chemistry at t1 and t3

£64/ha spent and immaculate crop

Same here on fungicides. And considering you’re far further west of us maybe I could have been more brutal on dragging back. Every quid saved is a holiday with the family.literally.

Shhh! Dont tell my wife that. Every family holiday is a pound an acre spent. And I don't know what ages me more - family holiday or UK weather.

I have spent about the same
no t0 only really needed in a high yellow rust variety if you do your job properly (time it right) at t1 timeing and pick a descent variety

with the loss of ctl next year we do all need to take more notice of septoria resistance
imho 6 is the minimum for resistance and higher if in a wetter rainier warm area

its no good complaining about chem costs then growing a variety that is under 5 on the list

In the middle.
At the tag warwick trial site today and it is quite interesting how fast the disease has moved in on the plots. The worrying thing is is how fast its coming in on some plots that have had full RL treatments.
