If you paid yourself an industrial wage for the hours you work before the 2.8% you would probably be alright

That's a low bar. An industrial workers wage despite taking on the pressure and risk of a business that you live with 24/7, and the fact that you also put your personal assets at risk, assuming you are self employed or have signed a personal guarantee?

So what I’m mean is from dale farm buy our milk to sell it out the other end probably around 1200 people have been paid a wage on a wide scale before the 2.8% profit quoted. Most farmers are probably self employed with no holiday pay , sick pay etc but their wages will come out after calculating profit.

I totally disagree with the education of primary children on matters of sex of any sort. I think it's disgraceful. They're only babies. It'll never happen in our local school though for the foreseeable future, for WW111 would occur

Well said Ag. They're kids for a short enough time as it is, let them enjoy their childhood without heaping the pressure of all that guff on them.

Surely dale farm is supposed to pass as much on to producers as possible?
So why make it as taxable
Profit? 2.8% is plenty as long as covers interest and debt repayments and leaves a little for reinvestment.
As for those complaining about the risk. Don’t do if it worries you so much.

Agree 2.8% should be workable. Highest profit Dale Farm has had I imagine.

As for risk, my current level of risk doesn't worry me. But in every other walk of life, risk costs money. Therefore we should aim for a premium over a 9 to 5 salary, otherwise we should surely go for the salary?

Thanks. Would like to have more time for it and put the rest of it in better shape.

Any professional gardeners/grounds keepers I know are very relaxed people. Whatever they get done in a day is what they get done, and they're happy with that. The farmer is always at the bidding of the weather and the animals.

It's not all as relaxed as you would think
