Removing Ad Blue

As ever with engineering solutions there are different compromises to reach the same goal. Those CNH and Fastrac tractors, along with Valtras and Sisu engined Challengers use a relatively large amount of adblue because their engine designers chose not to use EGR. My old tier 4 interim 939 used much more adblue than the tier 4 final one I now because the later engine has EGR. JD have always pushed EGR to the limit and the 6250R we had on demo this Autumn used very little Adblue.

My new Holland T7.210 tier 4b uses a horrendous amount of adblue. It’s the only machine I run that has adblue and I’m on my 2nd ibc container this year. A guy that does remapping tells me that there is a delete system coming but not yet. I will certainly get it done as soon as possible.
Hi Superted, did you ever get this done? I have problems with adblue on a new holland combine -same engine as yours- and have been offered a remap, just looking for peoples experience. Thanks

Does seem nonsense a combine that works for a minimal window every year , out in countryside still requires the stuff. Tractors and handlers fair enough but not a harvester

Err, these CS690 cotton strippers have adblue.
500 hp engine, I believe it is the only JD Ag product in Australia that runs adblue ?
Older machine is 3 years old
Other one was new this year, 1000 hours since March. Running 24 hour days when we can

No problems what so ever with adblue on either, apart from having to fill the tank every few days

Burning close to 1000 litres of diesel a day, for a four month season, I think it's fair enough to have emission controls / standards.
This one machine would be equivalent to God knows how many family cars ommuting to work every day.
If we are going to have emission controls on private vehicles, it should be across the board on all IC engines, in Ag, transport, aviation, marine, construction & earthmoving . . .

Best of luck getting the aviation industry to work to the same standard.

Quite a few jd gear running adblu. The 9620r only available with adblu. 6r series are all adblu not sure on 6m though

Ok, I'm obviously not up to date with other JD machinery
Last time I looked, the 8 series tractors didn't have it - but that could be a while ago now :)

8r can be had in tier 2. Most 9r except the 620 will he tier 2.

I reckon there should be a tax break for those that have it like me with my Fendt but that don’t come into it. Australia will surely get with the rest of the world and implement the regulations I’d have thought.

Didn’t JD once famously announce they would never use ad blue as DPF was a far better solution ?

And then 12 months later ....

Surprised they did re brand it “ad-green” though and charge extra for it !

That’s was basically to keep their domestic NA market happy.

DEF - Deere will never, ever refer to it as AdBlue - (which is a German VdA trademark) was seen as a complication typical mid-west arable farmers could do without, besides which Deere had invested a lot of time and money developing and perfecting the perfect sh!t ingestion and recycling system - in cooled external EGR and were going to max that tech out

Before Tier 4 Final of course when they absolutely had no choice in the matter, as you simply can’t reach the low levels of NoX output without using “DEF”

Interestingly ,some of the 24 litre lieberr v12s jd choppers have neither a dpf nor adblu, and a haze of soot can clearly been seen when working...
