yes i sell breeding sheep and i dont want a dirty line down back , nicer to use , IF click was double price i would only use that but nearly 3 times is taking the mickey for double alternative cover . Should a generic copy emerge will only be click type spray

Don't seem to see that black staining so much now,
I remember when dysect was first released, there were stained sheeps everywhere.
I think they changed the carrier.

Dysect works. Just give half dose shot over tail with t-bar nozzle.
It rots flexothane leggings, but it works in a world of chemicals that more often than not don’t work cos the modern world keeps diluting them....witness my weedy fodder beet.
If it works it invariably gets banned in modern agriculture...use it while you can.

If you’re selling breeding sheep, don’t you think it better to make sure they’re covered for the season (Clik)?

I say that because I once had a customer that complained when a ram got struck 2 months after he bought him. I make sure they’re all covered properly now, as it’s a lot less hassle.

tend to use clickzin twice a year on sale rams , its more on the breeding ewes, i dont like pens with black stripes down the back spoils the look of the pen

Thanks to everyone who has read this thread, and your replies have been very helpful.
I have now purchased some containers of Dysect and will be holding off using it for as long as I dare, in the hope that when I do use it , it will protect them from fly strike for the rest of the season.
If this idea works , hopefully I will have saved a fare bit of money against the alternative, if it doesn't work ,I will spend the rest of the summer catching fly struck ewes , swearing.
Thanks again

Why not use clik extra at a reduced rate, isn’t it just clik at higher concentration of AE ?

Interesing, I know @neilo does something like this. The Dysect would have the added advantage of controlling ticks and lice.
The active ingredient in CE is 65mg per ml, this compares with Cliczin at 12.5 mg for the same AE , so over 5 times the strength. So using CE at the same rate as the equivalent Cliczin would cost around £34 for 5 L as opposed to £135 for Cliczin. Through experience Cliczin is reliable for 6 or 7 weeks but click extra at half rate ,if my maths and limited knowledge of chemistry are right should last for the rest of the season. It would still be £25 for 5 l more expensive than Dysect even at half rate.

Dysect (damned autocorrect) is cheap and effective ime. It’s just horrible stuff to work with, which includes every time you handle the sheep afterwards.
Clik will cost more, but I value my health above that extra cost personally.

What will you use for fly cover for the rest of this summer and at what rate ?
