Does anyone know if you can control the speed the engine speed control switch A/B ramps up and down, Its pretty harsh and fast, would prefer slower.

I already do both, but workers dont care as much as the owner, so would be better if it ramped up and down slower, I hoped it could be adjusted somehow

Does anyone else find it bloody annoying that it cancels the revs when you press the brakes? When mowing I get to a corner press brakes and tractors back to tick over

My 08 perkins knocked the revs off if you hit the brakes, i think its an option to untick with the dealers laptop iam afraid
the later 2011 6480 has never done it thankfully. nor the same year 7499 unless you tell it too on an option via datatronic when using a cruise speed memory with preset revs

Hangon the +/- button moves the preset A or B revs on these by increments of 10revs at a time
your doing something hellish wrong surely ???

Correct, but when you tap A it revs from 0 to whatever preset pretty quickly.

Tbh I can't say I've ever found it an issue to be concerned about, but as said above you could just to it manually yourself then press A and it will act as a "stop" and keep it there.

Right so the issue is the rate at which the tractor responds to the revs change, doubt ya can do anything about that its just as fast as shoving the hand or foot throttle
on to do the same thing. never found this to be an issue myself.
if ya using the likes of eco pto on a job i have A set at 1250 & B 1520 hit A first from tickover then B
eases the increases i find.

You've never found it a issue but have a system in place to ease the issue ?

If the PTO is engaged, the set engine revs should be retained while braking. There is the possibility of three set speeds, not just two. There's the hand throttle, A and B electronic memories.
If you wish to rev the tractor up slower than available by pressing the A or B button, you can increase engine speed to near the set memory by use of the foot throttle [or even hand throttle] before selecting the desired memory.
I've never found this to be an 'issue'. It's up to the driver to control his tractor and these machines give him many options for altering revs. Perhaps too many for some, basically, steering wheel attendants.

Yes your right but thats how i control it or as the Duck has said easy the hand throttle first then engage the preset button.
540eco on my topper is quite sharp even on tickover to the fact it can snap the shearbolt once in a while if ya not carefull
no load on it & its shaft driven all the way, + of course when in eco its speed is much faster from the off.

3 throttle modes & tech 3 dynashift modes with having SPEED on eitherside of MANUAL driving modes with that AUTODRIVE wheel.

That’s probably why mine does then being a 04 plate I tend to use the hand throttle instead because of it

If it does release the engine speed memory with PTO engaged, I would classify that as being a fault on the tractor that needs seeing to, probably by a technician with a laptop. I’ve been spreading fertiliser today and using Eco 540 the engine speed is set for 1600 to get 750rpm disc speed for headlands [with the deflector and half width to the border], then 1800rpm to get 850rpm disc speed for the rest of the field. It would be far too much faff just using the hand throttle and I often use the brakes down hill, cause I spread at 16kph, and to slow down at the headland of course.

The DVT transmission on mine has the two forward speed memories set, one at 12kph for turning, and the other at 16kph. So I rely very much on ‘memories’. Bloody marvellous thing is memory.

Newer 76 and 77 both have a setting to rev slower in the dash but 64 don’t to my knowledge. It took me a long while to get used to a and b but love it now just use the foot throttle to put it to roughly revs then click the switch but that doesn’t help op’s workers
