Is there any way that I can automatically move say invoices to a folder. So that each month I can just open that folder and go through them,if that makes sense.

I use outlook for my email and do that to sort email. Invoices from known addresses go straight to the invoice file

Just make a folder same as say junk inbox,sent box etc and just drag and drop into folder and name it invoices maybe!

Yes that can be done. Google should show you how. I have a folder for the kill sheets for our pigs, with an automatic rule to put them there. Works well, but can't remember how I set it up....

You may find a proper email client (some of these are free or built into browsers) will have more functionality and will make all this a lot easier. MS have Outlook which can handle emails at many different servers or addresses (for example, my Outlook handles emails from three differing email accounts all from different servers) and you can set rules to sort mail into different folders according to who it is from or similar.
Vanilla spec gmail might not have the same level of functionality.
