That be idea for jcb build nimble 4cy fastrac with power and high road speed to. Match plus good rear lift,

It's a nice idea, but you can't get enough power from a 4 to cope with the higher speeds. My old 1135 only needed to see a hill in the distance and we were changing down !

If you do manage to squeeze enough power out, the drive train and axles need to be heavier to cope with said power and there goes the lightweight idea ...

Catch 22.

Kinda... but if it is lighter and not intended for pulling such heavy loads then the drive train and axles don't need to be as strong. Think of something a little heavier than a Landrover, a bit more tractor like, and a little lighter than a Fastrac... Yeah, it's a Unimog :D

I think there is space in the market for a lighter tractor that can legally do 50k pulling a smaller load than the bigger ones.

And everyone will buy one and put an 18t trailer on it. Then they’ll complain it’s gutless, and if it’s not built strong enough they’ll break it.
Never mind the fact it’s only plated to pull 12 or 14t then they’d get a bad reputation.

Get even an 8 tonne trailer bogged out and you'll need a fair size axle to cope with the stress of 150hp, which is around the minimum horsepower you'd need for high speed haulage..

Was looking for similar a few months ago and ended up going for the Luxxum 120 . Really pleased with it . Looked at Valtra a , Massey global , kubota ( all these got dismissed for being too noisy in the cab ) and Jd 5100 r . The command quad gearbox on this didn’t seem quite right and the local dealer was very unhelpful regarding changing the wheels .

The shifting on the Luxxums box seemed a cut above the others mentioned here , it’s pretty quiet and 1000 pto is only 1800 revs or 1600;in economy. Hydraulics are accurate and pretty powerful for a smaller tractor , it comfortably lifts my Scott’s harvester that my old 6430 with upgraded rams struggled with. The air con has handled this summer fine , could do with a fan speed in between 2 and 3 though.

Yea, tractor took another trailer home. If you send a low loader into the middle of the mountains on a one way trip that will cost.. the 4220 wins on these jobs.

100 miles I'd be buy a lorry and taking the equipment there save hours
I've driven a tractor over 50 miles and started as a truck driver was loading a second tractor on his artic. He did overtake me, but late on, and I arrived there just as he was unloading. So over 50 to 60 miles [probably around 55 miles] there was nothing in it. My tractor was 50kph of course but on all but 10 miles of dual carriageway it was rural A roads with a few villages.

Yep. They are changing it either to Lixxum or Fuxxum.
The lightweight low power 'poverty pack' range is rumoured to be called Farrtum.

Far from launch yet, but there's a new mega-tractor with a very high spec on the way and its name is to be Yumtumtum.

You heard it here first.

Case are missing a trick if they don't offer you a job right now !!!

:D:LOL:
