But is "getting over the line" the same as admitting he has "won" no more than what tusk offered as Canada Plus in the first place

Isn't the current consensus that they are working towards a Canada, minus, minus or similar. In other words a transition to a 'no deal' in 14 months time, plus a NI only backstop. Apparently the best case scenario of this outcome will be a cost of 16 billion per year, worst case will be 49 billion per year. Additionally, it will remove all the protections for agriculture and manufacturing that TM's deal had in it. Sounds ruddy fantastic!

I wouldn't be so sure. BoJo and Parliament are under massive pressure to deliver something soon no matter how sh!t it ends up being for you and I and the great British public.
That maybe be true but if all the remainers in parliament had worked together and especially not taken no deal of the table we could have left months ago, of course thats your plan all along try and make it a failure so we vote to go back in, the EU would love that, no more rebate and having to join the EURO and of course putting everyone else off leaving, great job all the collaborators have done, you must all feel very proud of yourselves

I think you've missed the point: he needs the UK to leave the EU.
Once out, regardless of what has been agreed beforehand, the then PM (probably Boris, after an election, with a majority) will only be able to do what Parliament allows him to; we know this because the Supremes have told us, and an awful lot of you remainer types were very pleased to hear it, then...
Will you still support this ruling when Parliament, containing a majority of Tory & DUP leavers, orders the PM not to allow any internal UK border without a majority in Stormont supporting it; and, because they will have learnt from Mr Benn's Surrender Act, 'force' him to request in writing that such a thing must be included in any deal and that he must end negotiations if it isn't forthcoming, i.e. no deal?
P.S. Arlene is in on it, the fireworks will be for show.
You flipping better be right. Listening to it this evening as an Ulsterman is extremely depressing. Reg and customs border in the Irish sea is not my idea of a good outcome. I wouldn't be entertaining such as risky move as agreeing to something now, just to get Brexit through, in the hope that it could be revoked later by a strong government. Madness. The DUP should have made clear that the union was the most important thing (I did briefly hear Arlene and Dodds say it about six months ago), and that if we can't keep the UK together and have a reasonable deal, then they would vote for new referendum. Why are two Unionist parties tonight risking the union?

I wouldn't be entertaining such as risky move as agreeing to something now, just to get Brexit through, in the hope that it could be revoked later by a strong government. Madness. The DUP should have made clear that the union was the most important thing (I did briefly hear Arlene and Dodds say it about six months ago), and that if we can't keep the UK together and have a reasonable deal, then they would vote for new referendum. Why are two Unionist parties tonight risking the union?

That’s the $64k question!!! With all the factions required to agree to any deal being tabled I can’t see an agreement on this side of the channel getting through whatever the EU 27 would agree to. Are we heading for a hi jack of Brexit in totality - i.e. no Brexit at all? I guess a confirmatory referendum would produce a result for stay at around the same %’s as the 2016 result. That wold create fireworks. All the conservatives can hope for is an election but it’s not a given that they would get a majority. Deadlock!!

Update just like a rev counter, the £ has slipped on the DUP announcement this morning. A clear picture for the currency will only emerge when the Brexit nonsense is resolved.

I can't see any kind of Brexit being good for the pound. Not even a customs union. The EU will be going after the London financial centre. Recession will definitely be on the cards soon. Looks to me like the good news is all priced in at 86p.
