Clean cattle been a real trade in Thirsk, Decent entry in terms of numbers 190, all buyers seem very keen for beef at the moment ( not sure how long it will last though) Best heifers again over £2.50, R grade cattle 580-650kg mostly over £2.20.
My best were bullock @ £1410 for 605kg, Ave £1370 for 10 sold bullocks and heifers.
Seems a good trade, they would be giving that a decent report I would think. Sometimes when Carlisle are saying they were a good trade in the mart report you are left wondering if the writer was even there.

Wednesday Nov 6th Hereford STORE LAMBS -5709 Auctioneer -Greg Christopher

We asked for more and thankfully vendors responded and would be delighted with trade again. Just under 6000 lambs entered with trade the dearest of the season and exceptional throughout, with lambs as dear in the last row as the middle and still several men going away with part loads or none. Strength followed the finished trade with these very sharp, although not forward in huge numbers. A bunch of super Texel x ram lambs to £85.50, Charollais lambs to £87, several bunches of strength £72 to £79.50, with lambs in the last row to £72.A huge show of farming lambs which included several excellent runs of well bred sorts -these an exceptional trade and generally £3 dearer on the week.

All the best farming lambs £67 to £71.50 with plenty of bunches in the late £60’s. A super run from M/s T E Lewis & Son, Llanbadarn of 250 Texel x lambs to £68.50 with the rest £65 to £67.80. Smart Texel x lambs to £77 and £73, with a premium for the best Texel and Beltex stores. Some sorts however starting to show the effect of the recent rain and just starting to lack condition -these still well sold from £64 to £66.50. A large show of Mule wethers -these easy to place topping at £66.20, several large bunches £64 to £66, medium keeping sorts from £58 to £62. Medium keep lambs from £60 to £63.80 and looking well sold. Well bred sorts all £62 to £64 with some plainer and harder bred types generally £57 to £60 and customers keen for all breeds and types. Some smaller meat types also finding some killing trade which certainly is helping underpin the trade. Longer term lambs the dearest sold by some bit, these a remarkable trade with anything with some breeding from £54 to £57. Smaller and plainer types from £47 to £52, with anything with a pulse over £40 and look by far the dearest . Very small sorts late £30’s but most into the £40’s

.Ram lambs a strong trade as ever in Hereford with a large crowd of purchasers for ram lambs -the best to £85.50, other strength £70 to £78. A large bunch of Texel x Welsh to £71.50. Farming sorts £60 to £69 depending on strength and condition. Cheviot ram lambs to £66.80, Romneys to £70 and Speckles to £60. Smaller sorts from £54 to £60 to include several Welsh and harder bred sorts -very little under £50.Ewe lambs selective and very near the end of season, Welsh Mules the easiest to sell today topping at £90, other coloured Mules £70 to £75. Texel x Mules to £81, other smarter headed sorts £79. Suffolk x Mules to £82, others to £76, other smaller types from £66 to £74, with the smaller end now worth more as store lambs and best sold either fat or as a bunch of mixed lambs.6000 plus needed for next week with excellent demand for stores at present, vendors are encouraged to take advantage of this current trade.

Anyone know what weight Randall Parker pay up to? Also what price are they on at the moment?
I was told that they heavily penalise lambs that are over their maximum but I have been told different weight!!

Good to see the buzz back in the sheep game, alot of folk would get them away earlier this year with a brexit carry on, but now that's done away with folk have took the hand brake of and are after good stores. Can't beat the sheep game when it's good. There not as many about either.
