She's not the best speaker but it does put the whole methane issue into place well. The big question it leaves me with is: why are governments targeting livestock methane reductions when the vast rise in methane emission since 1990 has now been documented as being due to leakage from the oil and gas industry (especially from fracking) and from landfill sites?

A recent NASA study found 40% of California's methane is from landfill (26% from livestock). Surely that methane should be captured and burnt for local property heating thereby reducing it to CO2 emission, 28 times less impact. That alone would create the methane reduction required. Even NZ could do this as they have some badly run landfill sites.

Expecting livestock reductions to provide the offsetting of other emissions is forcing farmers to take the heat for the failure of the rest of society to adapt THEIR lives.

Plenty of trees in the pics Blaithin posts.
Really? Or do you just mean the ones around my yard?

I mean, there are trees here. Mostly in the coulees and draws. But they aren’t big by any means, not enough water here for trees. I’m also right on the edge of the Parkland, the farther south you go the less trees there are.

Conveniently took a pic of the nice day today, just about all trees you can see are tree lines planted around yards.

They target livestock as they can tax a farmer, not there own landfill nor an oil and gas corporations...bad cows...

It’s pretty!

One of the chores as a kid was watering baby trees... can’t say I enjoyed it enough then to want to make it a job for me now ?
Low density poly pipe with 2ltr/hr drippers. Turn tap on in morning and off at night (y)

That's what I do /did for the 12 000 or so that I planted.

I always thought you rural folk were prepared for such things.
I am, especially as far as bathroom lighting goes. The light doesn’t work in there so I have been using a rechargeable led torch for the last 12 months. :D
It’s very good and even the missus is quite content with it, hasn’t even mentioned fixing the proper one.
There’s no need to remind us every 6 months about it when we clearly mean to do it sometime. ?

What tap :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Had to fill the tank up at the dugout as a kid and then drive it to the trees. Could’ve dripped it out from there I guess but still would have had to keep doing the trips back and forth and back and forth.

Parents care less about work efficiency when they have kids to do the shitty jobs I think.
You clearly dont have brown snakes hiding in the grass :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I started by filling a small tank on back of the ute and watering each one with a hose....till I nearly stood on a snake.....
