Fendt 718 remap

Be interesting to see how you get on my remapping man says he can’t do them because there’s some torque sensor that senses too much power and derates it!

Well turns out this is 100% correct, got the tractor mapped today, it was only around 160hp at the shaft, got it turned up to around 200 and then when we tried to go higher the torque sensor kicked in and killed her away back down to 150hp and brought up codes on the dash.. so had to go backwards and settle for our 200hp map. She still gained 45hp and 264lbft over standard though so should hopefully make her a good bit better to work with!

I’m surprised it was only 160hp standard, had my 720 on the dyno and it was 191hp standard, you’ll notice an extra 45hp,it with be a dream to drive now.?

716’s here, sold to us with promise of being mapped to 200hp. But this resulted in them being in limp mode etc etc a lot, some sort of transmission or torque sensor that sensed to much power. Now all chipped to about 180/190hp. Works well, nice handy tractors, powers not mind blowing but nice. Ran MF’s before, had a lot of transmission problems when pumping slurry, I think that was down to pumping slurry in 1000 eco.

Been thinking about this, Fendt don’t seem to publish PTO power but I’ve since learned that 160 at the shaft would be normal enough for a 718, giving around 180hp gross at the engine. So she prob wasn’t far off standard and should see a noticeable improvement with another 45 horsies. Just a shame we have no work now for a while to get her tested as things are quiet!

It's a few years so can't remember the details but the sales rep told me there was differences mechanically between the 718 and 720. Different vario unit and front hubs and diff. He wasn't exactly recommending remapping. Power wise he said a 720 was the comparison of a mf 7618 (dyna 6).

a Fendt 720 will walk all over a MF7618 dyna 6 , having used both the fendt walk away from the MF all the time, yes a 718 is not the same spec as a 720

Was that the max at the shaft as that is good
Can't remember will have to find the print out, dealer had it on the dyno after the injector seats were replaced.
I am told 716 is lighter, but 718/720 were the same. Also 722/724 are almost the same but slightly heavier duty transmission
18,20,22 and 24 all share the same transmission but 22 and 24 are the ml180hd basically heavy duty bearings.

the front axle is different , front linkage & gearbox are all different on , a fendt is one tractor i would not remap , better to buy the one you need
