Perhaps because Corbin was as unpalatable as Shorten was here. Youd be annoyed as an independent like in Boris's seat to get 5 votes when bucket head of the raving loony party got over 250 and binhead got more than you as well :ROFLMAO:

Has Shorten gone?

But yes, there will be fewer tears than we thought at his demise it would seem. Good riddance!

Farage will get the ultimate say in it. He was the king maker. What you all do with Scotland "remains" to be seen......
Actually I think his fox has been shot as surely as Roy shot those pigs! His party didn't win a single seat. He'll bluster about how it was him wot won it for the Tories so they owe him but it's bullocks.

I read earlier this year that average Welsh farms owe 85% of their INCOME to subsidy. I couldn't believe it so looked at the official figures. It's true!:banghead:

Removal of subs would kill the Welsh economy and rural communities.
A lot of hill farmers in Wales with a lot of acres get massive subsidy cheques because it's area based and sell very little. Some have been paid to destock so they sell even less.
It would be more like 50% or less on better upland and lowland farms. Those hills get a lot of money for nothing.

Thinking about this again and saw that it's income not profits.
As part of income on most upland and lowland farms the subsidy would come to much less than 50%. Ours is about 15% last year. That would be more typical of most farms round here. Must be serious skewed by the hill boys.

I know most those people.

One friend has a lot of pasture and oat hay to sell further south from here. At the price he is asking he expects $200,000. Still not much profit as he says the bill from the contractor to mow rake and bale was $120,000 and he had all his sowing costs on top.

Peas are doing real well in this mix, wish i upped the %. I still think at 250kg ha i am light on as peas are heavy big seed.

Im amazed at clover, or could be weeds? Time will tell, i spread persian clover in front of drill with qaud.

A bot more mist today, next rain boxing day i think and i probably be looking for it.

Vacced cattle today...easy...the bathhurst boys are getting big. They are very well behaved.

Vacced lambs with 5 in 1 and b12, nightmare!! And lice spray as they get lice from wallabies.

I bought another 60 lambs last night to try eat this bloody grass. It grew more last week than what the lambs could eat.

Ant...

Lots of little shaftal clover in the last picture. Here it will grow every month except January if you have water, so it would grow all year round down there.

Sheep lice are specific to sheep, they dont even live on Dorpers for long.

This paddock has wallabies daily, this year as soon as i out the cattle in bang they had lice and were scratching losing hair. Put the lambs in there and bang they scratching like mad...so there's something with these wallaby lice. Alot complain with cattle and lice from kangaroos and wallabies.

Also a guy from hamilton got bit by one and caused a chronic fatigue disease, they finally diagnosed it as a lice bite from roos or wallabies.

The delta black treatment fixed the cattle after 2 doses so hopefully the sheep stuff does the job.

A lot of hill farmers in Wales with a lot of acres get massive subsidy cheques because it's area based and sell very little. Some have been paid to destock so they sell even less.
It would be more like 50% or less on better upland and lowland farms. Those hills get a lot of money for nothing.
Spent a week in Snowdonia recently. Got talking to a hill farmer there. I asked where his sheep were as the hill was empty.( Big area easily 2k acres) They'd all been sent away (in September) to a lowland farm to be tupped in November.
'Back for lambing?' I asked.
'No, he lambs them for me and sends them back here the first week of June' was the reply. o_O

What do these hill farmers do for their subs?

To be fair he may have 4 or 5 times the number of ewes that the farm could support all year round.
