Same as most, I love it.That surely begs the question, why are you farming?

And a Farm is a fantastic base to work from.Same as most, I love it.
Will depend on price and yield, hence it can also be £200/acre.
Obviously that's at the upper end and £200/acre is easily more achievable from a 1st Wheat following fallow.
But £400/acre has been achieved with both 1st milling wheat and OSR, after all costs, rent etc.
Cropping every acre every year is less profitable here, the break crops are just too unreliable and Spring Barley to inconsistent and weather dependent.
a low fixed cost structure can really pay off
Best call the receivers in tomorrow.farm like you are going to live forever
Call the receivers in Monday.live today as if you will die tomorrow
Thats the golden ticket sir, If it aint in the ground you cant sell it & the very year prices do go the right way its a no brainer.Ah now youre fuccked , you just mentioned a plough !!! Btw i agree with you a crop should beat fallow hands down . And shure wouldnt you cut your throat if the grain price took off in june and you with nothing but weeds to cut !!!!
Aye thats sum number, thought i was doing canny at £100 a acre on a really good year& even managed £185 back in 2008£400/AC profit? How does that work?
Only snag he might be paying £200 of that back in income tax£400/AC profit? How does that work?
am well chuffed i hit that from 2018 harvest then,I aim for £100 an acre, which I think is ok on rented ground.

a Paper crop? u mean dabble as a Commodity buyer/seller & do no physical land ops ??Could buy a paper crop?! A topic beyond me but I thought I would throw it into the mix along with the pros and cons of Spring Barley, Beans etc and Cover Crops.

Were Farmers not Bankers playing with someone else's money.
"playing on the futures" is a hell of a lot less risky than growing an unpriced crop, and often less risky than growing a pre-priced spring crop.
