Classics Earning their keep.

No dual power?
No dual power just a standard 12x12 gearbox with a dry clutch.
Thats how the first 40 series came out badged as the SL , but customers wanted the dual power, so they engineered the SLDP, which caused them grief as you couldn't feather the clutch on the first sldp, and they got the nickname jumpomatic.
That tractor in bowland was a bit of a rareity, as it was a late model 40 series and not many of that age were built with the SL spec for the uk market.

You just can't beat raw power when you need it! re drilling a miss where we risked using some old seed up and the gamble didn't pay off. Thought we would try the light approach .
The little 35 barely leaves a footprint on duals and the spring tine came out of the brambles after a few years rest.

Tight valve on the Crystal or bent pushrods? Some do the back bearing in the injector pump, leaving it down on the rear cylinder?

I have an 8145 as well, dropped a calves 12 months previously. Mashed into a piston . All new valves , guides skim . Pistons and liners , polish crank etc . Cost a few bob..
I have it since 01 , and had got.my value out of it .

We’re in south Cumbria near jc36 and the trailers are all homemade but by other people. Good try though!
Edit: the green one could be a Mortimer trailer actually, I thought they were homemade as they have no plates or markings ?
Thought so small world I was brought up and worked in the KL area but then moved away 18 years ago ☺

Trailer looks the part, health to enjoy. How do you find it with the bales on the extension? I know with my kane when bales are on the extension it would take the weight off the hitch rightly
There's very little weight on the hitch with bales on the extension, you definitely wouldn't want to lift the front bale off first. An extension will always be a compromise but I can't see us ever being able to justify a bale trailer.

Aye thought that would be the case. Your like myself, don’t do enough bale carting to justify a bale trailer but the extension is the best compromise. Had to load from the back once in summer there to stop stand sinking in, was ropey enough
