Anyone crossing them yet or using a bull on heifers? I’ve been thinking about using one on some beef shorthorn heifers bet there easy calves thrifty little things aren’t they? I like doing daft things an am a bit old fashioned too?
I think they would be an ideal cross on anything that lacks milk, love to see some limmy crosses

Used to be a chap in the Macclesfield area who kept Blue Albion cattle . Word was that they didn't breed true , reverting to their shorthorn ancestors . " 2 recessives ?" Don't know it they're still about , or whether that was true , I don't know .

It depends what you call breed true but you will get 2 grey 1 black and 1 white out of every four calves statistically but then you will get grey calves out of white or black cows. No red or roan

That would be Mr Geoff he shall, his father kept them in the 30s and Geoff had them till he died in 00 I think, they went almost white ,but he used to put cows to a long horn bull,to put some colour back in them ,but he had 3 blue alibon bulls

Why would you want to ?
I know what you mean it’s just the ones I’ve seen on pictures look a bit too dairy on the backend, if they could breed them more along the beef side more people would probably have a few which I turn would help save the breed for the long term! I don’t mean turn them into Belgian blues, you have to retain the breed characteristics
