And make sure you don’t use a hook end top link, unless you like buying tyres

Might sound stupid but out of fascination why would a hook end make a difference? All cultivation kit I’ve used has never said not to use a hook end unless it’s a sumo thing?

Most cultivation kit does not have a massive heavy roller on the rear,a long way back from link arms bouncing when going down the road.id imagine sumo dont reccomended hook end top links either.im sure there has been one or two on here who have had problems with top links on sumo machines and paid the price in new tyres.

I sometimes Pull 3 m sumo with a chipped 155r, makes her sing but get on quite reasonable only use a 900 kg big back a little bit more weight on the front wouldn’t hurt, But drive it myself so we manage ??????

The hook splays apart over time on the road due to the weight of the roller sticking a long way out the back, once it’s pulled it enough it drops out and swings the tines into the rear boots as it falls.
also the ball can split in 2 then just let's go. I had this with ours on a simba express st. Luckily I was in the field just lowering in to work when it happened. If you have a enclosed end even if the ball cracks it can't fall out

Evening,

Has anybody ran the sumo trio mounted 3m with the roller removed? I don't need the ground to be pressed down again after cultivated but was unsure on depth control without the roller on the back?
