Having done my very windswept but not too wet cattle feeding this morning I've had a lazy day watching BigJet TV (some nutter braving it out and broadcasting a live Youtube stream of planes landing / attempting to land at Heathrow) and FlightRadar 24 telling you what's coming in and seeing them stacking up.

Hilarious commentary, no doubt some of you know who I mean.

Admittedly a lot of stacking is I think because the transAtlantic arrivals are arriving way ahead of schedule due to the following wind. It's currently raining so hard there that you can't actually see them landing.

Touched 80mph wind here around 9am ... but if a zephyr tbh but a fair sluice of rain around 10.30.

I think some of those pilots could have taken their feet of the gas and saved some fuel but they were probably hoping to break some flight time records; or were on a promise when they got home! :)

Crazy amount of sideways rain here.
I was at Talacre in 1986 when Hurricane Charlie came through. I was on a horse!

Crazy place Talacre. Not so long ago two horses got stuck in deep mud and the whole area was gridlocked with traffic. On an other occasion the council workers left the access gate to the beach carpark unlocked, with a very high tide due, and people returned to their cars to find them up to their radiator grills in sea water.

Just wind gusts of 55mph, some pretty awful rain but not as heavy as up North. Few trees down but not much else of excitement to report. Dogs very reluctant to venture far esp the terriers!
