I’ve just acquired a Teagle 8080 that I want to use on a 2140 John Deere, does anyone know what needs doing to the hydraulics to set them up for closed centre use? Cheers

Not got a manual for it, haven’t looked at valve block closely to see if I can see anything, have done the wrappers in the past where a plug needed doing, just thought someone on here might know of the top of there head, cheers

Teagle have all the manuals on their website. Not sure what age your machine is but I found this.

There is a plug in the valve that needs changing.

Any tractor we have put on we just plug one into the spool and other into free flow return and tie the lever in. Only had it old tractors and open centre ones though so high flow not been an issue

Have already got the spool return into the filter housing, as use this for wrapper and tub feeder. Just not sure what to do with the valve block, not sure what this third line thing is that is mentioned in @tweedale terrier posted manual? Have only ever needed to fit plugs to blocks before, cheers

Then you don't need to do anything to the valve block, just plug in the same as for your wrapper and feeder.

The return to the filter housing is what I have always called a free flow return (unrestricted) as supposed to going through the spool which could cause back pressure. Is this what they call a third line? As I still only have 2 pipes?? One from spool (pump) and one to filter (return) cheers

If you don’t set the valve block up for closed centre it means that the tractor pump is on full stroke all the time, which isn’t good for the pump or hydraulics on the tractor though, I know this “will” work as it is but like things to be right , can’t afford to break anything!
