Slightly off topic.... There’s a local weather guy on Facebook, he has weather stations set up all over the highlands, he was reporting at the start of February that Skye has had over 600ml of rain in January alone. Aberdeen was 22ml. Inverness 100ml.
Just watched the SAS selection programme on Raasay and it seemed to rain all the time- even in summer.

Already is. Radio Scotland this morning, an "expert" said the reason Hawick and surrounding ares have been so badly affected is because of "modern farming practices ". His answer, plant all the river catchments in trees! Made absolutely no mention of the fact that we have had in excess of 150mm of rain in 10 days and 6-8 inches of snow

Much the same from another self professed "expert on C4 news last night from .... Again plant the Uplands was the cry.

Some of the pics here and on the news make our problems fade into nothingness...

Came down this morning to power off and sussed out that one of the trips had gone and taken the Master out... 2-3 mins of testing suggested a faulty circuit, checked the cellar and found this...

4ft of water had reached the plugs!!

4 hours later and access was got and power restored... Socket a tad soggy!!1581872109165.png

Plant trees now, hope everyone with flooded houses is happy to put up with it happening for another 20 years until the super absorbent forests start working?
Have they actually researched this, because there's a big difference between how much water ancient forest will absorb compared to tiny saplings

When I see town patios and driveways dug up then I will start planting trees
Yes...the council let everyone tarmac over their gardens causing even more run off
I agree , blaming Morden farming and lack of trees ffs these people have an agenda I hope they are first too starve .
Deciduous trees 'work' for 6 months of the year, grass works for 8 months.
Dredging works all year round.

The weather has been improving all day and I was feeling very lucky at the few minor repairs that were required.
Then got hit by a horrendous squall for 20 minutes which seemed to completely fudge everything and I nearly got hit by a roofing sheet.
Watch out for these sudden changes if your tempted to repair ort.
