It only takes 48 hours for a weather system to form in the Atlantic, so anything longer than that is a stab in the dark. You believe them then?

Not really but I’m trying to be optimistic! You believe them then?
A silver lining!!
February has corrected that with total now 79mm.
215mm here, so far.
See, if I am in two minds about getting on and doing something or not, I dont ever remember a time that I wish I hadn't and regretted it.Lesson learned for me this season. If in doubt do nothing. You don't get thanked for trying and failing at this job or for taking a risk. You just lose more money, well that's what has happened this season. Time to walk away from the arable for a bit.
Same here.We wouldn’t have a single thing growing is we got 215mm in a month
So far we have managed to round them up without a dog. Just open the gate , shake a feed bag and they come racing after you. Benefit of central handling system on ring fenced farm. We had cut back on numbers though so can’t really stock much more grazing land. I will change my mind again when it dries up but glad to have some variety to spread the risk and at least something doing.Going to cost you.
Still need to buy the dog, cut the stick.
Don't use double negatives.I dont ever remember a time that I wish I hadn't and regretted it.
Not sure what the moral is ?

Though I must confess there have been many times I have gotten on with a job - with absolutely no doubts - and have regretted it in the future.

Same here.this does seem to have been a year when every decision I made was the wrong one.

Watch the jet stream if you want a rough idea of whether it will be settled or unsettled. When the stream goes north of the British Isles, the weather will be dry. When it's over us it will be unsettled. When there's a big kink in it, there's a storm spinning up.

What happens if it’s south of us?
I thought it was the other way round - when it’s strong and powerful (straight) it sets the storms off because the temperature contrast is greatest, when it slows down and buckles it allows blocking patterns to develop - if it’s north of us it will be more likely high pressure and south of us low pressureWatch the jet stream if you want a rough idea of whether it will be settled or unsettled.
