i suspect you are right - have never known a launch so drawn out

I think it's to gradually get people used to the way it looks - there were months of "leaked" pictures. Whenever something new comes out that looks different the majority of people hate it... then I suppose you get used to it and it grows on you.

will have to disagree - who is going to be buying these dinosaurs in 5 years' time? - would you seriously sink 100k in to a Range Rover tdV8 today if you had the cash - 5 yrs from now they will be loose change the way the world is changing, they will be taxed off the roads, in fact they already are being
Be some really smart farm jeeps on exemption in 10 years if there gonna depreciate to nothing and be taxed off the roads :ROFLMAO: ;)

I'm not really surprised. They'd have been far better off with a Ferrari.

All cars are money pits but some are deeper pits than others.

On the right Ferrari or Porsche over the same period he could have doubled (or more) his money !

Not all cars depreciate ! but it is a rather exclusive club

Back on topic - Land Rover defenders ....

anyone want to buy my 10k mile, end of line Bowler Defender ? offers over 100k "might" be considered !

There will be just as much demand for them then as there is today. They will always depreciate to around or below 50% of new price by the end of the third year, which means about £17,000 per year depreciation over the first three and probably another £15k to £20k over the next two years.
That will probably not change much.

I'm rather looking forward to sourcing a Bentley Bentayga V8 diesel when they are five or six years of age. That could be a bargain of sorts. Especially if you are correct and they depreciate 70% or more by their fifth birthday.
You’ll be the poshest farmer in Ceredigion, herding the cows with the Bentley. Run it on cherry too! :p

Only if he takes the back seat out and carries calves .........

My ex FIL's father used to run a Packard in WW2 with the back seat removed and a strawed box for collection of livestock so he could always answer whenever he was stopped regarding rationed petroleum

had mine from new - 4 years now and still probably worth at least double what i paid

Buying new isn’t always a daft thing to do
