Bed making asparagus this afternoon
(Different field to earlier!)
Damn it's a small world, I know John, the driver, quite well. Just given him a bit of a ribbing on FarcebookHuge dilemma this morning.
Load of fertiliser turned up, three rows of 600kg bags.
First 2 rows, all the labels faced me, no problem, the furthest row were ALL THE WRONG WAY ROUND.

Thanks to TFF, particularly @Robert K and @bovrill my usually well hidden OCD tendencies went into overdrive.
No chance of unloading the truck from the other side..... Discussed the problem with the driver who had never had this issue before (like me, I have never cared before)
He solved it in one by twisting all the necks on the offending bags.

So when I picked them all up they magically turned round.

NB the seed bags on the left were stacked before I realised that this was a thing.

Repaired the Vaddy with a new hub whilst waiting for the MF6290 battery to charge, turned out the stoppage wasn't fuel this morning ( in a way ) but a faulty Fuel Pump Solenoid Valve, thankfully once the brain had worked it out and a trip through TNS quarantine that was 3 hours lost.

Then finally back to the job for the day, trying to break the trailer.........clearing dyke earth back to the farm to hide some more interesting stuff that's been buried in the past.
Wash your mouth out with soap, the bags are all sent off to the recyclers.Do you stack them all the same way on the bonfire ?
Same driver comes to us ......
We have lots in parts of our farm. Can’t imagine you would get people to do them by hand these days. Although if corona virus continues people may be glad of the work.Today I discovered something it took some poor bugger(s) a long time and a lot of effort to create:

After quite a bit of digging (not with the spade, thank God for excavators!) got to the bottom of an old stone drain. Must be at least 4'6" deep. Flowing beautifully now, wet spot out in field drying out by the hour.
I told him that I was going to post this, he didn't seem to mind a bit, very nice chap.Damn it's a small world, I know John, the driver, quite well. Just given him a bit of a ribbing on Farcebook
I think that when they were done people were glad of the work since farmworkers at the time had a shortage of things to do in the winter and hence weren't paid. Our whole farm has 2 inch pipes dug in a chain apart all over.We have lots in parts of our farm. Can’t imagine you would get people to do them by hand these days.
