Short description: drilling some beans.View attachment 867733

Long description:

Despite all the usual caresses that normally get her going, nothing would bring the horsch box to life. 'Oh well, suppose I'll just use the front hopper- sure to be ok with 300kgs/ha'. Rig up and off we go.

2nd run..
'Why is that wheel the front hopper runs on gone all wobbly?' Oh well, I'll take them off, and hold it with the links, not in float, but need to sort out spools at back. Have a play around, and work out that I can disconnect markers and fold lines, and pick drill up on other one. Plug it in, lift drill up and it spits it out with drill in the air...

Get covered in oil.

Drill 5 ha. 'I'm sure I should have used a bit more seed than that...'

Oh and some pipes fell off.

And I struggled for penetration with empty rear hopper.

And I had numerous blockages in the head caused by lumps of fert crud from somewhere in the front hopper pipe.

Tomorrow is another day!

How frustrating! Do you normally get on ok with the drill?

Always liked those poverty spec Deere's for some reason.
Used to do some work for a chap that had a 2650 with a loader, it was really handy for feeding round the yards. Not as comfy as the fancy SG2 cabs (known as virgin cabs round uso_O) for field work though.
The mc1 was the cab to have if loader fitted and mainly yard tractor it’s only rated at 75 hp but will out pull a Morden 100hp

We had a 2450 from new with quicke loader and MC1 cab. Used to find the thing totally gutless in comparison to to the 2650 also on farm. Extremely nimble tractor around the yard though. Lost count of the amount of doors the then staff got through on it.
