Exactly where is the NFU in all this? Not once have I seen British Farming being represented on any program, that is what I would call "front line" where the general public would benefit from an insight. Piers Morgan, for example, taking on Tesco/Sainsbury with the NFU?

Sainsbury’s on the radio thanking people for helping them to feed the nation , I thought that was the farmers roll not the shop ?
Supermarkets are good at taking any credit. Looked at how they twisted the horsemeat scandel.
All the talk about how they are looking after the nhs people and elderly etc. They are milking it for all its worth.
Have they reduced prices to help people???......

They've reduced prices but dropped offers, so individual items cheaper but trolley costs more..... Cvnt$

If they did it would only reduce the price paid to suppliers, they certainly would not cut their bottom line!

Fortunately the bigger supermarket chains have to report profits, so if a killing has been made in these strange times then they will have to answer for it.

Has anyone actually been to smaller butchers shops and market stalls to see how much imported meat they stock all year around? Or is it a simple case of supermarket bashing?

Sainsbury's is Arab owned, Asda is American owned, ABP is Irish why does anyone expect them to buy English beef all year around, how many farmers will rush out and buy British Discoveries and think sod it I will pay £70k because its British?

Do non of you think that Asda an American owned company will press the government to allow American beef imports after Brexit, now that will give us all something to worry about!

According to butchers fb pages round here they are having a field day and can’t keep up with demand. But and here’s the but are they dearer or cheaper ,they can’t move the volume like supermarkets. Why arnt we saying this is our price when has there been a better time to damn well stand up and fight. No let me think why that wouldn’t work.Tried to buy barley told arable keeping it because they think there is lots of money to be made.Unless someone kicks ass the livestock industry is dead ,we all can’t keep selling animal’s at rock bottom price. Now hearing of milk been dumped yet food banks busy.Someone is going to be making mega bucks out of this but remember when it’s gone it’s gone so the public maybe should get used to imported meat it may be all they can get one day.Has NFU said anything over this.

someone should start up a marketing board for meat and every farmer in the uk who wants a fair price to chip £20 into the pot to cover its costs. then we will have the monoply to tel supermarkets/prossesor, thats the price take it or leave it. that £20 would be a lot better investment than paying for FA and the levy for AHDP, what do they do for us? F#%k all!
