How much down is the SQQ for spring lambs?

Spring lambs SQQ at Exeter today was 240.5pk which was down 17.3pk on the week.

Cull ewes averaged £65.85 head which was down £12.40 on the week, I had some very small ewes in that had major problems in the winter ( bad udders/ lambing etc ) that have gone thin/ poorer by the day and they averaged just shy of £50 head which is much more than I thought they would do.

Very happy with the lambs I had in as well, lets hope they hold at the current price for a few more weeks.

Prime cattle trade was off the clock and hellish dear!

When it gets to 35kg at our place it’s living life on the edge! 34kg last week £92 won’t get that this week, Took sixty on the dead last week to average 19kg dead which is fine by me but they don’t like them, they’d rather have 15-18 all day long, it’s all about fitting it into that tray with as little work as possible, ie trimming etc, don’t like it when the cellophane on top touches the meat as it turns the colour an jo public can’t be having that!
I assume these are all Beltex or top Texel?

That would never work down here as they are often loading the lambs as soon as they have been knocked down.
The buyers need to know they have bought to work out numbers for orders.
It is very seldom lambs get sold afterwards if they have not reached a reserve!
Fair enough, only done it for store cattle and 2nd auctioneer usually calls as soon as they're out the ring.
