A sheeps main aim in life is to die
As a student I was chatting to a sheep farmer showing at a show trying to work out the difference between the breeds. He said “all you need to know son, is they all die just as quick as each other”A sheep has three aims in life, to die, in public view, after the vet has been paid a small fortune to keep her alive.
@Fraserb take note
Spot On!
A mantra I have subscribed to since the late 70s when I was the poor bloody idiot maintaining a Standen single row beet harvester. Every nut and bolt or bit of shafting etc that was taken apart, ALWAYS had Copaslip when re-assembling.
In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
One Grandads advice was "load heavy and drive steady" and the other Grandads advice was " load light and go quick" ?Grandad advice on hay carting: If the funnel starts to smoke black, don't stop to change gear.

We used to do that. 7 high on the trailers, we had to drive through town (aged about 14), with old IH434s with very dodgy brakes. We used to go right past the police station, but it was OK because half of the policemen used to come and help us when they came off shift.You wouldn't get away with it these days, but I remember loading small bales of straw and having to fetch them home a mile or two, and was told if they've been loaded right there's no need for ropes if its only 7 layers high and you drive sensibly.
Did you / he ever conflate the two?One Grandads advice was "load heavy and drive steady" and the other Grandads advice was " load light and go quick" ?
Oh yes , being young and foolish .. .Did you / he ever conflate the two?
