Certainly, it's circa 30 miles each way. When I lived there I'd reckon on 45 minutes to get to Durham, mostly single carriageway A roads with a few towns and villages to travel through. You could use the A1/A66, but we're assured that he wanted to avoid busy roads.

His 'short journey' to test his eyes tale is horse sh!t.

There wouldn’t have been busy roads at that time though, as everyone had been told continuously that they should ‘STAY AT HOME’. He could have cracked on and made good time, eyesight permitting of course.

Went to our local beach yesterday afternoon, not too busy and plenty of room, also plenty of overweight lobster coloured people puffing away on fags. I think cancer will get a few of them before corvid does.

Well, well.

Apparently Robin Lees (bloke who reported Cummings to the police for going from Durham to Barnard Castle) broke the same 'don't drive long distances' advice as Cummings by making a return trip from Barnard Castle to Berkshire to bring home his student daughter as she had been isolating at her boyfriend's house. Looks like Mr Lees didn't care about breaking down, stopping for resupply and fuel etc either.

And Tim Matthews (bloke who claimed Cummings made a second trip from Durham to London) now says he made it up 'as a joke'.

Additionally, Labour MP Rosie Duffield has admitted breaking lockdown by having her married affair partner visit her whilst he was still living at home with his wife.

I knew I shouldn't have bothered checking the news this morning.

Aren't there loads of willow young French maidens frolicking about?

Very likely, but is he able and capable of catching any of them!!!!!!!!! Mind willing, body unable!!!! Am speaking for myself.

This turn in the thread reminds me of me now of two risque comments from my O level biology teacher Mr Widd. First one early summer day I recall him saying to the class of 15 year olds how he enjoyed the coming of warm spring days and the return of coloured bras! And second we had a first lesson one morning after the film Barbarella was screened on I think late evening on BBC2, next morning he bounced into the classroom and laughingly said he didn't expect much interest and attention as he assumed we would all be tired having stayed up to watch Barbarella.

Oh such innocent times.

But what he did was within the government rules. As the gov guidance said a student could change their permanent place of residence back to the family home if required. Plus as far as we know he wasn't carry the virus, where as Cummings most definitely was moving the virus from London to Durham.

Why will there be a second wave,it hasn’t happened any where else that has opened up

Are you absolutely certain about that? Care to give some figures of the numbers infected for the week before and two or three weeks after restrictions have been eased. Just those countries that had a minimum four figure death count, forget the likes of Iceland and NZ.
