They've got to meet these testing targets though!

There probably going out and rounding up randoms to test them.
There will be more and more negative tests, as more people are allowed to get tested and as lockdown relaxes; for example, before going for at least some types of elective surgery it will be necessary to have a Covid test just beforehand. Similarly if they want to establish how many people without symptoms do actually have the disease, the only way they can do that is test people without symptoms.

177k tests yesterday , 2,400 +

Another fortnight should get on top of it .

That's the number of test kits used or dispatched not the number people successfully tested. Only 50% of the home use ones are ever returned for analysis, the swab test and nasal test often carried out on one person but still count as 2 tests.

Should be doing swabs & bloods in care homes for residents and staff.

Swabbing is like an MOT, good for the day it`s done and that`s it, that`s fine for the great unwashed but not for Doris whose carer works in two homes and sees lots of people a day.

You send folk the data in numbers, they sign it off...then come back and say "We want a representative graph.... ffs... anyway....representative graph of Cumulative Hospital cases then by County, City and Hospital deaths.

Still coming in at a consistent level........ think the next 7-10 days will be critical to see the direction of travel.

Thoughts..............
Do I think the relaxation of measures is to early? Yes.
Do I think the Government are telling people to act like dicks? No.
Are people acting like dicks? Yes.

However I am equally sure that lots of us are applying common sense and not acting like dicks. I`m probably more worried now than when this whole thing started.

In other news.............. our Trust have just offered all the staff anti-body testing.

Across 12,500 folk that will give a snapshot of how many folk have had it,some without knowing it, and numbers to calculate infection across the wider population.

All good progress. We are learning more and more all the time - in a month we will be much wiser.....and/or have more questions too!

Still too many folk coming in.
Expecting an increase in cases.
The "tail" is starting to look more like a series of speed bumps than a decreasing line.

It is time for the Government to pull on the big boy pants, utilise the remaining furlough & support scheme time, and to tell folk to stay the feck at home.

What's the latest and greatest antibody test available to the public? The Mrs has just taken MIL for an antibody test in a nearby village...... going to cost some £70 I think. Hope it's not one of the tests rejected by the nhs

The retail antibody kits are of variable quality. Some are as high as 99.6% accurate.
You can`t beat proper blood sample put through a laboratory analyser.
Basically if it gets "sent away" it is likely to be reliable.
