We had 5 minutes where we switched the forum off to import a new style for the BASE UK section of the forum which will be launching in the next week. The section will be for BASE UK members to chat and hold webinars for their members. If you have been to the like of Groundswell or Croptec, you may have seen BASE UK there.

Will TFF members be able to see the topic titles, even if they aren't allowed in? What do you think this will do to the main TFF DD sections?

Why create a separate BASE section? There's not much info owned by BASE and IMO the DD sections are a good recruitment ground for future members.

the idea is that BASE members will be able to talk about what speakers they would like the committee to book, organise farm walks and local events etc and run webinars featuring their speakers at live events to their paid up members only

for it costs being a member of BASE is a no brainier fir anyone interested in direct drilling, similar cost per years to a ticket to Groundswell

Thanks Clive. I'm a paid up BASE member, so it's no odds to me. I've emailed Rebecca to ask for permission to be allowed into the new forum. I just didn't want the DD section to be diluted by the private one. Lots of non CA farmers contributing to the debates in there which adds a lot of value IMO.

The section will be opened up on Friday @Brisel. I see the need for BASE to offer this service for their members, as the members pay for the speakers, but as you say, hopefully the bigger conversations will still happen in the open sections.

we will see how it goes, if it causes problems or confusion or kills the existing DD section then it can go as easy as it can come !

Not a spelling mistake per se but more of a grammatical error

Should read "to subsidise meetings" plural

Thank later and as it doesn't really apply to dairy, I shan't ask for free membership
