Agricultural Equipment / Machine pressure washing - £45.00 p/h

When can you start....?! :D I can offer you plenty of examples if required.

In all seriousness - it sounds like a good idea you've got here. I know plenty of dealers who use a specialist for this job.

If you have some examples I can clean, then Saturday this week is a good day for me at whatever time suits, let me know

Was thinking today the tractor and trailed sprayer could do with a good clean.....I'll see what else might need doing tomorrow.

Where are you based?

You really needs the dirtiest shite hole of a livestock farmers loader tractor, with about 6" of caked on shite from new, enough bale wrap and string behind the seat, a back window that has never been shut for donkeys years, with before and after pictures, Shirley someone on here will have the ideal tractor for the job

TBH when you look at the price of a good pressure washer, fuel cost, chemicals, brushes, wages, etc plus allow for someone that knows the best way to clean I think you'll find at £45/hr it may save you money.

It's not just about labour but other costs. Last decent steam cleaner cost me nearly 2 grand

£45/hr way too much, wouldn’t have thought many HGVs would pay that either, the money’s not there. Some trucks only get paid £45/hr to work so that’d be a big expense. Maybe some show trucks etc might. Obviously not massive takers otherwise you wouldn’t be looking at tractors.

Our washer I’d cost at £3hr, labour with NI pension etc £18, so £21/hr. Having said that every farm has a jet wash, most would baulk at paying someone to do something they can do themselves with the kit they have already.

Personally, being a Yorkshire man a set fee would be the only way to get me interested in someone to wash my machinery. I know it’s a how long is a pice if string question but realistically how long would you think it would take you to wash a 200hp tractor and a 6m long grain trailer?

Hi, I would charge 22.00 p/h, including travel. If you wanted the machines done more than once a year say at end of season, I would adjust my charge to reflect this. How many machines do you have..??

To be honest, I have no idea, never done one I would say hour to hour half, as I am trying to get established, I would charge 10.00 p/h so I can gain experience, take photos, look at the equipment, the PTO side etc etc so 10.00 would cover my travel and costs etc, so basically a free clean, if you are interested..??

@markclem71 , please dont take offence at this. re read this thread. Your prices go up and down like a yo yo. One things farmers hate... If they think their neighbor, cousin, in-law has paid less than them, My god your life wont be worth living. While i admire your spirit but you went from £45 per hour to £22 in the blink of an eye. You will have to wash twice as many vehicles in the same time to match your first profit. Also your costs wont be double but certainly wont be the same! Like i said, Id go to dealers. The machine will be onsite, not being used.. If you go to farm and the weather changes, before you know it. The machine will have moved or wont be available.

Hi price changed after advise last night regarding prices and I will contact some dealers, and it is not always in my mind about charging a high price, I know what my costs are and where I need to be and know I need to play the numbers game..?

Hi my name is Mark, and I run a new business venture called Cambridge Pressure Washing. which I started this year, just before the lock down came into play. I am looking to clean Agricultural vehicles, including trailers on farms in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. I have public liability insurance to the value of £2 million and offer the following price of £45.00 per hour, this includes an external pressure wash of the vehicle using Autosmart XLS TFR and a quick hoover of the cab. I can also clean HGV vehicles and trailers for the same hourly labour rate.

I can offer a one of clean at a time that suits you, at your farm or if you require various cleans throughout the year which I can do for a mutually agreed price price. I am prepared to travel outside the areas offered, depending on the number of Agricultural vehicles or equipment that you require cleaning.

If you would like further details, please get in touch.

Regards

Mark
If I could offer a suggestion. Look into providing a service for exporters. Afraid I can't tell you where to start looking but I do know certain countries demand any machine being imported has to be 100% clean. Fully disinfected etc. Shipping companies been known to charge £2-3000 to clean big excavators to the desired standard.
if you could get into that and issue some sort of recognised certificate of cleanliness you'd charge 5 x the £45/hr
