How do i test the hydraulic power of my tractor? I think the dealer has tested the flow....but i want to test the power. Just because the flow has tested correct doesnt mean the power is correct...does it??? Im sure it is down on hydraulic power and want to test it/compare it to our other tractors. Thankyou for any help

Power is pressure x flow.
If your dealer has checked flow I would forget about that and just measure the pressure. Flow meters are expensive and pressure gauges are cheap. Just plug a 250 bar gauge into the spool and pressurise it.

When testing a hyd pump flow you will need a flow meter with a loading valve. This will allow you to record the flow at 0 pressure and at max operating pressure. Also oil temp will have an effect on the flow reading at pressure. Hydraulic power is defined as flow multiplied by pressure. The hydraulic power supplied by a pump is: power = (P x Q) ÷ 500 - where power is in kilowatts [kW], P is the pressure in bars, and Q is the flow in litres per minute.

thanks for the help. Tested at just over 200 bar. must be the hydraulic motors on our slurry reelers going lazy. Anybody know a good place for getting them reconditioned or is it just a new motor job?

you can have a lot of pressure with low flow we had that on a fastrac, pump was on its way out, how fast will it tip a trailer /
what type of reeler ?

Tips trailers and does everything as it should the back reeler is home made now but started life as a slurrykat reeler many moons ago. the front reeler is spread wise.
