I don't think they really moved that far enough out, it really needs moving again.
It is on an industrial estate though so hopefully shouldn’t get too much trouble from the council wanting to build houses on it lol

No, but when I saw Jasper Carrot at the Lyric in Carmarthen in 1994 he said he had just come from there and that is was no wonder the name of the place was an anagram of stroker.
Heard (from a reliable source) that the council have put the market lease up for tender.
Date for tenders was, IIRC, July.
That's the impression I got (from an auctioneer, who may, or may not, be tendering)So if an auction company wants to take it on and agrees the right terms with the council, it could start up again ?

I guess it's in the lap of the council - if they don't like any of the tenders (or they don't get any) they could knock it down.
With all this coronovirus milarky, I suppose it's got pushed onto the 'back burner' from everybody's perspective.
Are Newark council obliged to hold a livestock market ? I know Norwich council are by an ancient charter .

If they are, then offering the site out to tender would perhaps be fulfilling that. If nobody comes forward with a tender that they consider viable then they can say they have tried but nobody was interested..... before developing the site.
I've never been, but is it not a town centre market. Would it not be better going the way of most other town centre charter markets, the site being closed and developed, and some of the proceeds spent in developing a purpose built facility out of town?
With Council parking wardens ready to book you as soon as you park your empty trailerNo it's out of town, approx 5 mins off the A1
