Sprayed off the first 2 fields of osr yesterday. Put Podstik on the rest so the earlier pods don't shatter while we're waiting for the later ones to ripen. The rest will be fit for glyphosate next week.

Can't believe anyone bothers with the FW anymore.
It's one of the few good laughs still available.

In fact, this time last year I took out a year's subscription which had to be cancelled after only 3 months because the hard copies seldom turned up.

Then agreed an appropriate refund with them which has also failed to turn up, so the matter's now in the hands of the Office of Fair Trading.

What do the tramlines look like? If the ears are 180 degrees to the stem and there's no green to be seen I'd say crack on! A week might be enough for what I can see in the picture.

I'd say crack on!
Which is exactly what next door did yesterday.

Surprising and sad that there's been no pics up here yet, apart from the now traditional 35% moisture and 13t/Ha in Somerset from the yellow 'un.

We shall start 10th July as promised, even if that's well after everybody else for miles around here, with yields promptly posted.

None of the WB round here including our bit is anywhere near ripe even in this heat it is showing little sign of going yellow, reckon it will be last week of July at the earliest, even the rooks arent at it yet

Biggest no go motivation hereabouts is not wanting to quantify exactly how bad the yields are.

We're definitely not starting until 10th July here, which is the day after the annual banksters' revue.

? :giggle:
But maybe just have a little go round the headlands to make sure everything's working... and well it's only a small field, be silly not to polish it off whilst you're there

Yesterday walked in some winter barley (not mine)on Cotswold brash and I would think it may go the end of next week, but a bit of a dilemma as headlands still green!!!!
Never seen such a variation in ripeness.
The farm has just come on the market so at least prospective purchasers can see how poor the land is, as crops very thin, and no
fault of the farmer as he certainly knows what he’s doing.
