Boris's paint Job

It’s not upside down in Boris’s eyes.
He sees the world upside down, so the flag is correct to him.
Mary and Paddy from Limerick went to the passing out parade for their son Johnny at the Garda college.
As the new Gardai marched in line during the ceremony, Mary exclaimed with heartfelt pride “look, they are all out of step except my son Johnny”!

The paint job didn’t cost £900k. A whole lot more was done to the aircraft at the same time as it went in for it’s new paint job. Maintenance on a Voyager ain’t cheap!

**edit**

And for all the flags-on-the-wrong-way-round types, here's the RAF statement on it:

“The design is correct in all respects and carefully follows the correct protocol for displaying the Union Flag on an aircraft. The convention is for the flag design to appear as though it is flying from a flag placed on the nose of the aircraft, as it travels through the air. When viewing the starboard side (right hand side), this can give the mistaken impression that the design is backwards, or upside down, when in fact the observer is simply viewing the reverse side of the flag.

A keen eye will notice that this convention has been consistently applied on all flags represented on the aircraft, including on the Union Flags on the two forward-most aircraft doors. This protocol is not unique to the UK, a simple on-line search for images of the United States’ Air Force One starboard side will show that an identical convention has been followed.”

Since it now just looks like any ordinary BA plane. Couldn't they just have one on permanent loan, as BA won't be using them all anytime soon. Or it could be a way of paying a bit back to the taxpayer for any bailout.

BA haven’t really taken any bail out, apart from maybe some furlough money - certainly not like the €10bn that Lufthansa got this week. And besides, they’re actually a subsidiary of a Spanish company (IAG) these days.

What’s the point of the plane? Serious question, why do we need it, is it going to be used like AirForce 1 etc? We have planes flying in all directions ever single day of the week (most of the time) so why this other than some PR stunt.

IAG has had a bailout of nearly a billion from the Spanish Gov. BA has had over £335 million in loans and furlough money from the UK Gov to the end of May. So surely that would qualify BoJo for free use of a BA plane, especially as he is always complaining about it's lack of availability of the RAF plane.

That is one thing that boils my p155, folks who patriotically want to fly the flag, but can’t get it the correct way up.
Unbelievable that is on Boris’ plane.
It is correct. The flag is always flown with the broad stripe at the top, next to the staff. The picture's in the press are the reverse side of the flag on the off side of the aircraft.
The stars and stripes are always worn with the stars box always to the front depending on which shoulder its worn on

It’s just Trump and Johnson in a dick waving competition. Trump has airforce one so Johnson has to have something.
