Matbro tr200 hydraulic pump

As above, ours has gone buggered. I nearly fell over when I was told of the price of a new one considering the machines value. Anyone got one parked in the shed or any ideas on where else to price?

Which type is it?

Priority valve on it or separate under cab?

Don’t know if that answers your question but that’s the one I need I’m told

Now Then..
That's the earlier type with the priority valve.. Therfore the more expensive one. It may be possible to replace just the pump ?..
Have you flow tested it?? I used to find the bypass valve in the inlet section of the spool valve assembly was often at fault..

not flow tested. Ran her a bit short of oil and she wouldn’t do anything so had to bleed it and pump a pile through. Ran Fine and then when we went to use it the next day we were back to buggered with her. Does that sound like the bypass?

Just a thought, as its fitted with the Perkins 1004 type engine, couldnt a Manitou type triple gear pump be bolted on and the pipes modified to suit? With searching,it would probably be possible to find 'generic' pumps to fit at a reasonable price.

The problem is the brake charge valve that's part of the pump as well?

Pump on it's own isnt maga expensive imo or hard to get. Problem is the other bits of it are obsolete.

not yet. Where are they based? Worth rebuilding?

Nothing to rebuild. If it's the pump the casting will be worn as well as the rotors so it isnt worth bothing.

I'll try and dig out an old quote i had for one about 3 months ago. Dont recall it being anymore expensive than any other similar sized pump imo. Just like I said the rest of its obsolete so one day you might end up having to convert it to newer type anyway.

The unit is made for the Matbro TR200 and the valve on the back makes it quite a one off hyd pump. If you want to replicate the hyd pump and a separate valve let me know as I have a data sheet on the pump, as for the cost of a complete pump I reckon you are looking at about £825.00.

Sorry to revive an old post, but what would be a budget price to replicate the separate valve. Basically are we talking hundreds or more than £1k.
Secondly, does this priority valve give much bother. I know it’s a bit of a vague question

At a rough guess yes you would be looking at more than 1k buy the time you bought the newer pump and separate valve, plus new pipes its going to be around that figure. Then plus your time routing all the pipes and fitting it, cleaning the hydraulic tanks out, new oil and filters etc.
