Price per outfit please

Whats the sensible price to sell a Angus x shorthorn in top condition with calf at foot (May). On average the cows are 5 - 6 years old. Excellent health BVD/IBR free. Easy calvers. Looking at Sell my livestock and prices seem to range around £1400 but Ive been offered £950 by agent. Which we think is too low. The calves are sired by angus and organic.

Havent got much time left as bull is due to go back in within a few weeks. Kept them separate hoping for more interest. I have 6 outfits to go. Just havent got around to popping on the site.

Looking at a sensible price to sell really. Is it wise to avoid putting back in calf? Need to trim down our herd. Thoughts on realistic price appreciated.

£1400 seems closer to it if they are decent stock. £950 is a bit of a cheeky offer
Id recommend Sellmylivestock as we've used it many a time and it seems to work well. What TB area are you in?

I have sold a good few sucklers the past couple of weeks to an average of 1800, I think your agent at 950 is too low.
trade is underpinned by strong cull and calf values plus a premium for breeding stock

Being from Newport would your local mart be Raglan?

Agents are middle men and middle men are in the game to make one thing..... money!

Cows and calves would range from £850 to £1650 in Whitland a fortnight ago. The higher end cows would have calves a minimum 3 months old running with them.

I personally would let the cows run with the bull again as this would make them more attractive to the buyers, and if you don't sell them they will be back in calf.
