Here we go - ‘The Countryside Is Racist’

I'm amazed how tolerant people are at times. Today our town secondary school was invaded by a gang of do-as-you-likies who parked their caravans all over the carpark and the police advised the staff to shut the school to avoid trouble. Many of the parents are essential workers, but apart from a few exasperated comments on the town Facebook page, no one did anything. Any comments about the pikies were met with charges of racism from their supporters and all the commenting on the subject was shut down. It is becoming very disturbing how nobody dares to say anything, no matter how bleedin' obvious it may be.

The police should kick them off immediately. Why should they be pandered to? There are plenty of far more deserving people in society who truly need help and are often overlooked. We also have had an influx over the week end, I was not aware one could go on holidays yet? No doubt, as per usual, they will leave a filthy mess, a mini crime wave will ensue and nothing will be done about it whatsoever.

Do not worry though, should you be unfortunate enough to be observed exceeding the speed limit, you will come to the attention of the police.

You Sir, are racist! You imply that our land is largely an unexplored jungle in which the natives swing from tree to tree shrieking and jabbering unintelligibly from one to another, before alighting to openly copulate upon the forest floor, and following some leisurely examination of each other’s genitalia proceed to lope off and effortlessly shin up the nearest and most convenient arboreal feature.

I will have you know Sir, that things have progressed in recent years! So have a care Sir, to be not so dismissive of our culture and our ways. Copulation in open spaces is now strictly illegal, unless by mutual consent.

To be honest, now you have described Wales so eloquently, It actually sounds like quite a good day out. I too would like to see the unexplored jungles and the natives in their natural habitat copulating openly with mutual consent. Shame none of us can actually visit at the present time due to our 'English virus'.

You've been compared to Adolf Hitler on TFF?

Fudging ridiculous. He was vegetarian.
Sure have ??? made my day/week

but I did agree with the guy. Hitler didn't just cruise about looking for affirmation everywhere, instead he had enough clarity (albeit pretty whack clarity) to actually go after his goals, to carry others along with him.

That's a choice

Beats getting told what to do, how to be, what to think, and not to question any of it - that's what the BBC and Guardian is for.... making the puppets dance enough, that they lose sight of the bigger picture

Herbert Marcuse, a Marxist who was very influential in the ‘ New Left movements of the ‘60s and ‘70s ( in the West) said that the Marxist revolution could no longer rely on the workers of the west to advance the tearing down and rebuilding of society ( because they had achieved their aims: better, safer working conditions, better pay..) and it must thenceforth look to those marginalised by society- the unemployed and unemployable, the sexually different ,the outcasts, those of other ethnicities and colours who feel rejected - and use their disgruntlement to create change. His legacy lives on. However as we know from what happened in Russia and other Communist countries that life rarely improves for most, in fact it detiorates sharply and those who spearhead the revolution are discarded.

No. Can’t be racist against whites. Seems to be humanly impossible.
You can in this country...
The BBC has pledged to increase it's diversity of ethnic minority programmes , so my brother who's job it is to promote the Cornish language approached them with a couple of programmes in Cornish...
BBC said "Although Cornish is counted as a ethnic minority, it's not the diversity we're looking for."
Any reason you deliberately left out the Cornish there? You biased or something?
Obviously the BBC is.

I live in the countryside and my nearest small town..Hay-on-Wye is 6 miles away. I would feel perfectly comfortable in walking from town back to where I live after dark. Very little chance of someone jumping out of the hedge and mugging me. Try walking 1 mile in MOST large cities in the UK and see what happens.

talking about Diversity and choice, I can't remember where I read it, there was an experiment. if you were to put a Texal ram in with a bunch of ewes, the Texal will choose to cover the Texal ewes rather than the other breeds. Now sheep can't think the way we can, so I think there must be something very deep in our psyche that makes us want to be around people who are similar looking. I think our higher brain functions class this as racism, however that does not remove our baser brain functions continuing to work, so I think societies where everyone is similar is more cohesive and altruistic, and where more diverse, it is more individualistic and less altruistic. I think there are a lot of "instincts" that are deemed politically incorrect by today's views, however that does not negate those behaviors rooted in our evolution.

Another day, another acronym. Never heard BBIPOC before. Does that mean i'm not woke ? Do hope so.

Isn't BBIPOC in by context of LandWorkers Alliance - presumably a British organisation - a prime example of cultural appropriation?

I am an Indigenous Person, but I'm a white person. Actually, from a recognised ethnic group within Britain. Think they'd better have a think about where their information source is based, the history behind that acronym, and just how relevant it is to their cause.

why i quoted hopkins and robinson, was that they both had the courage to bring to the attention of the wider public what was going on with systamatic mass grooming of young white girls, by and im sorry but its true by a certain race? its still going on ? also i was angry like many many others how young british troops were welcomed home when they marched by a certain race? you may not like them but they did something about it? watch the youtube clip tommy robinson v piers morgan ?

A "workers'" revolution led by the unemployed and unemployable? ???

Because the white, male, oxbridge types dominate BBC management they have to promote these things to disguise their obvious flaws.

I find it very frustrating that it’s made an issue when I bring my boys up to not be aware of any significance in the way people look.

There are significant cultural reasons why wealthy Asians don’t farm, unlike say Dyson. (Because you do have to be very wealthy) They worked hard to move their families away from the land into trading, medicine, civil service. They see land work as peasantry, that is their prejudice not ours.

Birds of a feather and all that aside, isn't racism just bullying by an other name and on a different scale? Talk with a different accent in the wrong area, or speak the Queens English in your nearest pub, and you may well be ostracised. Many a bright and talented school boy/girl has been intimidated and bullied for being different and so much so have committed suicide because they could no longer cope with the psychological pain and suffering of daily school life.

I often wonder if 'some' of the mass school shootings in America are the end products of school and college bullying.

They promote these things to insulate themselves from increasing social mobility. White children with 3 As from comprehensives with poorer outcomes than inner city black only schools will struggle against positive discrimination while money and nepotism will ensure Tabatha with her 3As and grade 8 flute and yaught will still become a political correspondent with a 6 figure salary.

Spot on, Will (y)

Basically, to a wealthy businessperson, buying a farm = buying a job making an expensive asset-base provide a positive return

As @Bossfarmer has been known to say, it's hardly one for the Dragon's Den

Retail, processing = profit
Production = necessary to provide something to process and sell

Bulling someone for something they can't change, race is a main one but there are others, looks, size, mental ability or lack of it, learning difficulties and the list goes on
Lots of folk that are the first to cry out at any hint of racism will bully someone for other reasons they can't help. Such people are no better than racists

Often the bullied become the bully; a youngster bullied and prejudice saturated at home will take out his own suffering and pain on a fellow pupil for being different and schools so often turn a blind eye.

I was just about to write that.
If BAME think it’s difficult, then try being thick, old, shy, fat or have some kind of mental problem. The main reason I work self employed now is because I was sick and tired of being judged and discriminated against on my shyness not on my ability. Not looking for sympathy as I have got to where I want to be but no thanks to some discriminating and very disheartening tossers along the way.

You highlight an issue common in many workplaces today and that is the inability of managers to spot people's qualities and foster them. One of my father's favourite things was in watching his staff develop whilst they worked for him. We employed dozens of young people all of high school age who would arrive shy, quiet and very reserved but leave 18 months later after completing their A levels with much more confidence and ability when it came to dealing with other people and the public.
