Some new arrivals here.....

These will compliment my lamb box sales....I’m always getting asked for beef and want an animal with low input but great eating.

Got a few steers and hiefers already but now a new generation coming though.

Couple more cows to calve

Dare I call these Exe Valley Beef like I call the lamb Exe Valley Lamb???

(Bit of an in joke for those in the know...?)

Surprise calf today ?
20200703_173809.jpg

This was the one I actually came to check, after I had found the first 2 I got into a panic because I couldn't find her (I don't have favourites but she is a bit special ?) then saw her laying down and thought she was dead from the lack of movement. Got to her and she stood up with this hanging out.

She would have calved absolutely fine on her own but me panicking got hold of his hooves and gave a light tug, slipped straight out. No sign of life. After a fair old chest rub and a bit of help to get going I got a cough and splutter and he was away.

I can't help but wonder if she would be aware of what you did for the calf and if animals think in any way.
Silly townie thinking from me, I suppose !
